What is WebP and why should I use it?

WebP is a modern image format developed by Google. It offers 25–80% smaller file sizes compared to JPG and PNG while maintaining the same visual quality. It supports both lossy and lossless compression, transparency, and animation. All major browsers have supported it since 2020.

Does converting to WebP reduce image quality?

Only if you choose a low quality setting. At quality 80–90 the visual difference compared to the original is imperceptible to the human eye. You can fine-tune the quality slider to find the right balance.

Are my files private and secure?

Yes. Uploaded files are processed on our server and automatically deleted after 1 hour. They are never shared, analysed, or used for any purpose other than the conversion you requested.
